Slate Roofs Design and Installation Manual - 2010 Edition
The 2010 version of the classic 1926 Slate Roofs is a technical manual for a new world. It is thorough and very detailed, with little ambiguity.
It contains 271 pages of information broken down into two basic parts: information about slate and slating, and slate installation details. The installation details themselves consume approximately 100 of the 271 pages of this manual. While in the realm of slating there is always more than one way to flash every detail, this manual presents most of the details slate professionals would consider best practice, as well as alternate installation details.
This edition is an invaluable asset to specifiers and detailers.
Available in hard cover and softcover versions.

Green Roof Systems: A Guide to the Planning, Design, and Construction of Landscapes over Structure
Green Roof Systems: A Guide to the Planning, Design, and Construction of Landscapes over Structure
Authors: Susan K. Weiler and Katrin Scholz-Barth
Green Roof Systems: A Guide to the Planning, Design, and Construction of Landscapes over Structure, is a resource for design teams and construction consultants, covering design and construction considerations for the installation of landscapes over plaza decks, parking structures, below-grade structures, vegetative roofing systems, and other structures.
Coauthor Susan Weiler, ASLA, is a partner at OLIN, a Philadelphia landscape architectural and design firm, and developed the landscape engineering and construction curriculum at Temple University in Philadelphia. Coauthor Katrin Scholz-Barth is a consultant based in Washington, DC, was formerly director of dustainable design for the HOK Planning Group, and has taught at Harvard and the University of PA. Both authors received the 2003 Green Roof Award of Excellence for the Montgomery Park project in Baltimore, MD.
For roofing and waterproofing consultants, this book provides perspective from city scale to project scale. This perspective may be useful for consultants who want to improve their understanding of macro social and political thought driving the consideration of vegetated systems. It does not, however, provide entirely accurate information on the waterproofing and weight-bearing aspects affecting landscapes over structures.
The book is helpful for individuals concerned with choosing the right plants. Anyone involved with vegetated systems is encouraged to read this book and become proactive in the industry to address the misconceptions this book conveys.
