RCI Glossary of Roofing Terms, 3rd Edition RCI's Glossary of Roofing Terms is a compilation of roof-related terms garnered from various industry sources. First published in 1994 and again in 1996, this 2002 version sources terms from those earlier editions, new RCI-member-generated vocabulary, and applicable terms from NRCA's Roofing and Waterproofing Glossary and SPRI's Glossary of Terms Common to the Spray Polyurethane Foam Industry. The source of the terms used is placed in parenthesis after each term. Where more than one definition is given, the sources' initials are separated by slashes. The Glossary of Roofing Terms was developed by members of RCI's Publications Committee under the authority of the RCI Board of Directors. This document is intended for use by anyone associated with the industry. Because it is, by definition, a continually evolving and growing document, RCI welcomes contributions in the form of new terms or proposed edits to terms already presented.
